An established and award-winning web publisher before he co-founded Yeti Arts, Aaron Louie hasbeen working on the web for a long time. While studying Biology and Psychology at theUniversity of Oregon, Aaron began creating web pages at the suggestion of a friend, as a way to archive and display Aaron's quirky original comic series,Ka-Blouie!.
Ka-Blouie had been published in the Oregon Daily Emerald, and Aaron took it as apersonal challenge to take the comic to a new medium. So, in 1994, after a few weeks ofintense HTML coding, the Kablouie Gallery wasestablished as one of the first online comic strips.
Aaron continued his work on The Kablouie Galley throughout his college career, eventuallywinning a Lycos Top 5% Of The Web Award in 1995. He also assisted his friends in learningHTML, as well as creating several web sites for campus organizations.
Aaron is a very active designer, and in addition to designing for Yeti Arts, he is alsomanaging the redesign of the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics web site.
When designing web sites, Aaron says he likes to focus on the code. "My design philosophy is almost Taoist in nature. Balance and unbalance; a design must be so natural and intuitive to users that almost no thought is necessary."
