Brent Diskin can still recall the first time he discovered the web while still in high school. "A crowd of my friends had gathered around one of the computers in the library," he recalls. "They had a copy of Mosaic, and were looking at Yahoo. I remember thinking, 'This is going to be huge'."
Brent got off to a quick start creating web pages while studying music at the University of Oregon. Teaching himself HTML between rehearsals, Brent created an outstanding personal web site, and was soon helping other students build their own web pages.
After leaving the University of Oregon, Brent joined Wellons, Inc., where his talents quickly gave him a mark of distinction. He was rapidly promoted to Multimedia Design Coordinator, where he serves as a jack-of-all-trades, coordinating the production of all web, print, and video promotional materials.
A classically-trained composer and budding filmmaker, Brent recently won the 1999 Hollywood Legends Film Festival Grand Prize with his Star Wars parody, "Store Wars."
Brent prefers a simplistic approach as his web design philosopy. "I'm impatient when I surf the web." says Brent. "I like a fast download, with a clean and uncluttered design. Nothing bugs me more than having to wait for a ten-minute download for a page that I have to spend fifteen minutes wading through to find the proper link. We can do better than that!"
Brent Diskin is a member of both the International Webmasters Association and the HTML Writers Guild.
